New to Canada? Try boating!

In Canada, spending summer weekends in a boat on the lake is a common way to go about enjoying the beautiful weather. New Canadian citizens often flock to the water for entertainment. Yet, many immigrants come from regions of the world that don’t participate in activities like swimming and boating. The Lifesaving Society recently developed an online boating safety program targeted towards new boaters, particularly new Canadians who may be experiencing recreational boating for the first time. With the recent influx of immigrants to Canadian soil, it is imperative now more than ever before that those who go out on the water have a comprehensive understanding of basic boating and water safety skills. If you are new here, welcome! We love boating in Kawartha Lakes!
