The calendar is an important tool for every household. It indicates blue and green box collection weeks, leaf and yard pick-up dates, answers questions on waste and recycling specific to the municipality, and features helpful information on how to keep recyclable and reusable items from unnecessarily filling up local landfill sites.
“The calendar is key to ensuring our community can participate in waste reduction effectively,” said David Kerr, manager of environmental services at the city. “It contains a significant amount of information on our services in one go-to document. We have a diverse waste management program. Through the calendar, residents can easily determine how it can fit into their lives that will ultimately benefit our community.”
The calendar can be picked up, free of charge, at municipal services centres located in Bethany, Omemee, Kirkfield, Coboconk, Bobcaygeon, and Lindsay. It is also available at all City of Kawartha Lakes libraries and 15 retailers throughout the municipality. For a list of retailers, please visit the waste and recycling page of the City of Kawartha Lakes website: www.city.kawarthalakes.on.ca.
