Explore Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park in the Kawarthas this Summer

Date: 06/24/2016
The park offers you myriad opportunities to connect with the outdoors. You can paddle in a canoe, or you can hike or backpack in picturesque solitude on over 65 kilometres of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail. The wilderness section of the 500-kilometre Ganaraska trail cuts through the park (www.ganaraska-hiking-trail.org). Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park is not an operating park. And there are no public facilities or services. When you visit the park, you should be ready to use appropriate route-finding and safety practices. After all, when you venture into the interior of the park - and beyond access points - you will be navigating within remote semi-wilderness environments. You cannot rely on cellular service as a means of communication or navigation in many areas of the park. You will find access points to the park at the following locations:
  • 1115 Devils Lake Road – Township of Minden Hills
  • 1526 Black River Road – City of Kawartha Lakes
