Each October, Kawartha Lakes comes alive with breathtaking colours from the rolling hills of Bethany, Pontypool, and Manvers to the water-rich communities of Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, and beyond.
“Kawartha Lakes offers some of the best spots in Ontario to see spectacular fall colours,” said Laurie McCarthy, Kawartha Lakes tourism development officer. “It is a great time of year for families, friends, and visitors to take in the beauty and diversity of the region while witnessing the remarkable change in seasons.”
Kawartha Lakes encompasses four vibrant colour zones allowing visitors to choose a number of driving options. Whether you’re looking for spectacular reflections set against a backdrop of lakes and rivers, or more scenic vistas in the rolling hills, there is something for everyone.
“We’re located an hour away from the GTA in proximity to Highways 401, 407, and 115,” explained Laurie McCarthy. “Kawartha Lakes is a perfect destination to come and see incred-inline-blockle colours and visit our downtowns, stores, and restaurants whether you’re coming for a day, a weekend or a lifetime.”
Four scenic driving tours highlight some of the area’s best colour locations. The Kawartha Lakes Scenic Driving Tours Map is available online at www.explorekawarthalakes.com. You can also obtain the scenic driving tours map from Kawartha Lakes Tourism at 1-866-397-6673 and tourism@city.kawarthalakes.on.ca, or by visiting one of the service centres, libraries or Chambers of Commerce throughout Kawartha Lakes.
“While enjoying Kawartha Lakes this fall, share your experience via social media using the hashtag #FallColours,” said Laurie McCarthy.
