Get Out the Rake, Commune with Nature, and Remember these Collection Dates at Your Cottage

Date: 10/13/2015
This year, the City of Kawartha Lakes will be collecting residential autumn leaf and yard waste on the following dates:
  • Is your regular waste collection day Monday or Wednesday? Then your curbside leaf and yard collection is Friday, October 23 and Friday, November 6.
  • Is your regular waste collection day Tuesday or Thursday? Then your curbside leaf and yard collection is Friday, October 30 and Friday, November 13.
If residents miss their curbside leaf and yard collection, they can take leaf and yard waste to any of the City of Kawartha Lakes landfill sites year-round, free of charge. Leaf and yard material must be set out at the curb in brown paper yard waste bags or tightly-tied bundles no more than 36 inches (7.5 cm x 91 cm) in length. Branches must be no more than three inches thick. Materials must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. to ensure pickup. Pick-up dates and collection zones are detailed in the 2015 waste and recycling calendar, which is still available for pick-up at municipal service centres, local libraries, and select retailers. Please visit the waste and recycling page of the City of Kawartha Lakes website for calendar pick-up locations: www.city.kawarthalakes.on.ca. For curbside collection issues and inquiries, please contact Miller Waste Systems Inc. at 1-888-557-4711 or www.millergroup.ca. For all other waste-related inquiries, please contact the City of Kawartha Lakes at 1-888-822-2225 or www.city.kawarthalakes.on.ca.
