Shoveling Snow at the Cottage? Don’t Overlook Your Deck

After all, it’s not a good idea to let a lot of snow accumulate on your deck. A well-constructed deck is rated for approximately 50 pounds per square foot of snow load. The considerable weight of wet snow or an improperly built deck blanketed in snow could cause the deck to collapse.
That’s why you should shovel your deck as often as you shovel your driveway at the cottage.
