Wondering which beaches are safe to swim at this summer? You're in luck! The beaches in Kawartha Lakes are tested weekly and the results are published. If a beach is marked "Open" you're safe, but stay away from those marked, "Posted." MyKawartha said, "Beaches marked 'POSTED" indicate bacterial levels in the water are higher than those considered acceptable as set out in the Ontario government's Beach Management  Protocol, making them unsafe for bathing." City of Kawartha Lakes Beach Testing Results

Each week in the summer, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit tests beaches across City of Kawartha Lakes. Below you will find the results of those tests. The health unit advises residents to note: • Beaches marked as 'OPEN' are considered within the acceptable levels as set out in the Ontario government's Beach Management Protocol. • Beaches marked 'POSTED" indicate bacterial levels in the water are higher than those considered acceptable as set out in the Ontario government's Beach Management  Protocol, making them unsafe for bathing.
