Water safety in the summer

There is nothing better than a summer day in the water, except a safe summer day in the water. To keep your children safe this summer, avoid distractions and pay close attention whenever anyone is in or near the water. Do not take any chances - no running by the pool! Inflatables cannot be trusted for safety reasons, so get a quality life jacket. Know the depth of the water and wait 15 minutes after eating to get in. Sunscreen is important, and should be reapplied throughout the day. Also, make sure to check in with your kids every hour. “Kids get tired, but won’t tell their parents, so a 10-minute break each hour also gives parents an opportunity to determine if the kids have had enough swim time”
